Our Philosophy of dental practice is simple: Treat our patients as if they were members of our own family. We emphasize prevention along with the finest restorative care possible. By putting our patients interests ahead of our own we have remained a vibrant Thomasville dental practice for over a quarter century.
About Dr. Whiddon
Dr. Stuart Whiddon is a native of Miami, Florida and a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1980 and has practiced in Thomasville, NC from 1980 to the present. He is married with two grown children: Lauren and Blake. His wife of 25 years, Ann, is a retired Human Resources Manager with Lucent Technologies who currently tutors high school and college mathematics and designs jewelry for several area boutiques. Both his children currently reside and work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Whiddon spends much of his spare time in the NC mountains, traveling, and sailing off the Atlantic Coast, the Caribbean, and in Europe. He is currently completing offshore sailing certifications with the American Sailing Association and the Royal Yachting Association in the UK. He continues with his volunteer work as Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 68, BSA and is the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award granted for volunteer service by the Old North State Council.
Dr. Whiddon's passion for detail is well known in the Triad dental community. He continues to serve as personal dentist for various other dentists and dental staff throughout the Piedmont Triad region. Though his restorative and cosmetic work has been displayed at numerous dental society presentations, his proudest dental accomplishments are the continued referrals from satisfied patients over his 27 years of practice. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the High Point Dental Society and is Past President of both the Davidson County Dental Society and the High Point Dental Society. Both he and his staff are involved in numerous continuing education programs throughout the year to keep pace with new innovations in restorative and implant dentistry.
Christy Regan is Dr. Whiddon's Office Manager and has been with our practice over six years. She brings a total of 16 years expeience as dental office manager to the practice and handles all financial and appointment aspects of the practice. Christy schedules appointments, handles emergency dental needs, answers many patient questions, and works diligently to help patients maximize their insurance benefits. Christy and her husband, Joe, reside in Thomasville with their three cats and "Noel", their Bichon Frise. Residents at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community enjoy frequent visits from Christy and Noel. Christy is a member of the Green Street Baptist Church Choir, loves to travel, enjoys landscape work around the yard and is very involved in pet rescue and foster care. She also loves to entertain and is know among her feriends as "Christy Stewart". Christy stays involved with environmental issues heads our recycling program at the office.
Christy Martin, R.D.H. is Dr. Whiddon's Dental Hygienist and has been with our staf for the last three years. She attended Ragsdale High School and the Dental Hygiene Program at Guilford Technical Community College. Christy has expertise in all aspects of dental hygiene including patient education, dental radiology, and procedures for the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease. Christy also comes to us with a background in dental office management. She and her husband Scott reside in Thomasville with their two "four-legged" children "Maddie" (Miniature Schnauzer) and "Trooper" (Great Dane). Christy enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling in her spare time.
Lindsay Scarbrough, our newest staff member, is Dr. Whiddon's Chairside Dental Assistant. Lindsay attended Trinity High School, Guilford Technical Community College, and the Phlebotomy Program at Davidson County Community College. She Assists Dr. Whiddon with all clinical dental procedures as well as taking any necessary dental x-rays. Lindsay resides in Thomasville with her two year old daughter Olivia and her Boston Terrier "Sox". She is engaged to Jim Conner of Thomasville and spends her leisure time fishing and boating on Badin Lake, grilling out on the barbeque, and riding four wheelers.
